Christmas With Berford

So, the day after Christmas all of the Taunton children and grandchildren were to come home and have Christmas with Berford (our grandfather-another story later on why we call him by his first name). I mean all his children! Spouses and all! This is the first time this was gonna happen since my grandmother passed away! We were gonna have appetizers and open gifts. We all went in together and got him a new TV and stand. Well, the snow put our plans to a halt. The ones in Birmingham and the ones in Atlanta couldn't get here since we had the "white Christmas." So, plans changed. Just part of us were there and I was told to go ahead with the plans and give him the gift with only part of us there. Berford had gone to the pasture to check on the cows, so we snuck in and started putting it together. When we saw him coming we got Aunt Dee on the speaker phone and surprised him. Guess you couldn't guess what his words were. Give up? He said, really big, "ALRIGHT"! He says this about everything....really! He really liked it though! We showed him how to work it (you know 83 yr olds and electronics!) and he was on his way to a clearer picture. We missed the other part of the family, but can't wait to see you this Sunday, the 9th! But, now guess what? A chance of snow and freezing rain again! Really??? What gives???

Awww Frisky! You look be-u-tiful!! (I know that's not spelled right. I intended it that way. Sound it out as it looks. Sounds good doesn't it!)

Berford with his new TV. See what channel he put it on first! Yep! The Outdoor Channel! Who'd have guessed!

Merry Christmas Berford! We love you!

  1. I love that man...and I can absolutely hear him saying "alright". He does say that all the time! I thought the world of your grandmother too...she was a pistol! I hope all of you are able to get together soon! :)
