Christmas Baking

We did a little Christmas baking today! Chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered ritz crackers with peanut butter, and, of course, iced sugar cookies! I still have mounds candy to make, but I will do that in the morning. Between all the baking, watching the kids play outside a while, and then still leaving time to cook supper, I was out of time today!
I think these boys are looking a little too sweet. Think they want a pretzel?

This is the start of a beautiful thing...
And this is the finished product! Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate! Mmmmmm!
Starting the sugar cookies!
In the oven!

Look at those big grins! Loving decorating the cookies!
Noah's work of art!
And...Jonah's work of art! Ha Ha!
The cookies all decorated with all of their loveliness!
Can you tell which ones I decorated and which ones the kids did? Mine aren't too much better, but we had fun!

Finished Project

So, as you know, I started my first sewing project last week. And no, it didn't take a full week to make! Janice and I worked on it the first day for a couple of hours, then we finished the pants yesterday. I tackled the elephant on the shirt this morning by myself (of course, she told me how to do it). I think I can do this sewing thing! It isn't perfect, but I think I did ok for my first time! Jonah was not interested in putting it on. AT ALL! He told me that he didn't like elephants and that he really didn't like 10 inch elephants! WHAT?? What does that mean really? He said he likes 1 inch elephants. (what a 4 year old mind!) So, I said, "look it IS a 1 inch elephant!" That didn't work! I then had to bribe him to get him to wear it! I told him I would let him draw on my phone if he would wear it. He put it on quick then! Please overlook his hair in the picture, we are getting a haircut tomorrow!
Isn't it just the cutest?

Thank you Janice for helping me. You are a real patient woman for putting up with me on this project! I am sure that I am not through asking questions! But, I am also sure that when I do have a question, you'll have the perfect answer!

Something New!

Look at my new toy! Yep! I got a sewing machine. Just a simple, basic, hopefully easy-to-use sewing machine. I had my first lesson yesterday. Thanks Janice! Bless her heart! It took us 3 hours to half-finish a pair of pants for Jonah! Of course, you have to take into consideration that we had to unpack and get the machine ready to sew on, and the machine jammed up one time and we had to figure out what was wrong. Don't worry! Somehow the needle came unthreaded at the top! I'm pretty slow right now, but hopefully I will catch onto it pretty easy!
I got it at Wal-Mart. A Singer Simple 23 stitch!

Can You Really See?

This is how Jonah watches TV....lots of days! Where does he get this? Noah! I have just not been able to get a picture of Noah doing it. How can this be comfortable? Can you really see the TV Jonah?

Happy 4th Birthday Jonah

Today is your birthday! You are 4 years old! You weigh 35.4 lbs and are 41.5" tall! Wow! You are so big! When you got up, we gave you your birthday gift. A Leapster game. This is a picture of you when you got it. (How 'bout that hair)
You started playing it right away.

We had your party on Saturday December 4, 2010.This is the cake! How cute is it??? I was super excited about it! Meredith made it, and she did a fantastic job! I couldn't have been happier!

We got everything set up for the party!
You got a Buzz Lightyear flashlight from Granny.

You got Gator Golf from Mema.
You got Red Rover from Carlton, Lynn, Zach, and Caleb.
You got Alphie from Uncle Ross and Aunt Cassie.

Uncle Ross also thought you should have a Razorback fleece pullover. How cute!
You got a super cool helmet, sword, and shield from Jason, Jan, Jacob, and Jaden.
It was time to sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles!
Blow those candles out!
Now this is where it got messy! Carlton shoved your face in your piece of cake. Poor baby! But, it made for a pretty cute picture. And, it was good cake, too!
After the party we were all pretty pooped, so we came home and watched Auburn play and rested a while! I thought this was a cute picture of you and Uncle Ross! You think he hung the moon!
Just for notes: it flurried this morning on your birthday! This may possibly be the only year you see this. It has been extra cold so far this winter!

Happy birthday Jonah Bug! I love you so much. You have brought so much joy to my life! You are a handful, but I wouldn't change a thing! You have such a good disposition, and always make us laugh! You are so funny! I am so glad God let me be you mama! I love you Bug!

Christmas Pajamas

I got the boys new Christmas pajamas. I think they are adorable! They have worn them a few times already, but I just had to get some pictures of them.

Of course, they wanted to act silly while I made the pictures!
Aren't they cute?
Jonah's trying to be a little silly!

So sweeeet!!!
I couldn't pick between the three of these pictures, so I decided to show ya'll all of them.

I can't wait until Christmas morning!!!

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

It is that time of year again! Christmas! My favorite time of year. I love to get all the decorations up. And as soon as I can, I get started! This year I put up most of it the week of Thanksgiving.

I have said for the past three years that I am going to get a new tree skirt and haven't. I just can't bring myself to pay so much for one. So, I went to Hobby Lobby and got two yards of each: red, green, and white tool. (Is that how it's spelled? Sounds good to me.) I just wrapped it around the bottom of the tree and...voila... $9 later, I have a new skirt! Like?
Here is our tree. I love decorating the tree every year. It is my favorite thing to do during the holidays!
And a view from the other side with our stockings hanging.

My new ornament this year. I got it at Target, of course!
Here is the tree "lit up."
I always let the kids get a new ornament each year. This is what Noah picked out. Ha! Of all things he could pick...he picked this! At least he's "patriotic".

This is what Jonah picked out. Right up his alley!
This is Noah's tree in his room. Of course, guns as a tree topper. Now that is more like him! The santa snow globe was a gift from Mema. If you can tell, it is fiber optic.

This is Jonah's tree in his room and his snowman snow globe from Mema. I think he has turned it on 150 times today! He loves it!
This is the outside of the house.

This is my fireplace and mantle. I got new nutcrackers last year on sale after Christmas.
This is my stair rails all decorated up.

This is the house after dark so you can see it when it is lit up.
